Since this was my list time doing figure drawing with Tommy, I wanted to experiment and really test my limits. I tried out Conte crayon for the first time. I really liked the lightness of the mark, and it made my gestures more expressive. Because it was so light, I wasn't as concerned with getting perfect proportions because I knew that it would be easy to draw over my mistakes. I also tried to fix issues with proportion, which has been a recurring struggle each year I've done figure drawing. To remedy this, I tried putting my easel higher up and paid closer attention to my proportions. And as my proportions improved, so did the movement and expression in the figures I drew. Overall, I'm really happy with this batch of figure drawings, and I hope I get some more chances to do workshops like this in the future.
