Frog (Q1 Project Progress Post)

Compared to last year, this project seems very out-of-the-blue, but I want to try experimenting with humor and stylization in some of my pieces. I also want to branch out and try different materials, so each of the four corners will be done in alcohol marker, green ink, posca marker or black ink, and a fourth material I haven't decided yet (probably either graphite or watercolor).

So far, the process is going well! I've figured that it's most efficient if I apply a layer of green ink and work on another corner while that dries. I feel pretty good with my alcohol marker shading, and I hope I can use the markers well enough to convey both texture and lighting effectively. Regardless, I am enjoying that this project is a little more whimsical. I find that I'm more motivated to work on a piece that makes me smile.
