Noelani Jones Lecture Reaction

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see the lecture in person because I got my wisdom teeth removed the day before. Even though I watched it after the fact, it was still really cool to hear from someone who does art full time. Something I didn't realize was that professional artists have to do a lot of travelling around to display their work. Because Jones makes her dyes on her farm but still needs to travel, how does she make sure she makes adequate time for both? Do professional artists like Jones ever make art just for themselves, or do they display everything they make? How long did it take for galleries to take notice of Jones's work after she started making art full-time?
